Stellar Materials is proud to announce that we have received our ISO 9001:2015 certification for our quality management system (QMS) at our manufacturing facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial, and commercial standards.

Thermbond refractory is recognized globally for its high quality and exceptional performance. For this reason, Stellar Materials decided to design a quality management system based on a standard that is recognized globally. “Implementing a quality management system that is compliant with the ISO 9001:2015 standards have improved plant operations as well as the quality of products and services that we provide to our customers. This certification ensures the consistency of our products and services and continual improvement of our processes, allowing us to continue to bring innovative quality refractory solutions to the marketplace,” says Jeff Pchola, Director of Operations at Stellar Materials.

Jeff took the lead on implementing this system and has worked diligently the last few years to update our quality management system to be compliant with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Jeff received the required training, documented and implemented the quality management system in accordance with the ISO standards, provided training to our plant employees, and managed the entire certification process from start to finish. “The ISO certification of our plant’s quality management system is a great accomplishment for our production plant. I appreciate the help and support from several key employees at the plant during the critical phases of the implementation and certification process that made this possible”, says Jeff.
