Thermbond Refractories were first manufactured in 1990 in Detroit, Michigan. Now based in Whitmore Lake, Michigan, our Thermbond operations encompass an 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, equipped with state-of-the-art robotic mixing and bagging equipment.
On June 14, 2019 Thermbond was acquired by Unifrax. Unifrax is a global leader in high performance specialty fibers and inorganic materials used in high temperature industrial, filtration, battery and fire protection applications that save energy, reduce pollution, and improve fire safety. The company has 31 manufacturing facilities in the Unites States, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, Asia, South Africa and Latin America and employs approximately 2,300 people worldwide.
