Testimonial from a Customer in the Aluminum Industry:

"We got in contact with Thermbond products by the representatives of your European Headquarters. The advantages of these products convinced us. We are using Formula Products and Phoscrete in our three melting furnaces with a good performance for three years now. We learned to 'Think Thermbond" and we thank you for your valuable support."

Thermbond Formula 6-AL in the Aluminum Industry
Launder and holding furnace applications

Thermbond Formula 6-AL is a thermal shock resistant, non-wetting product with high abrasion resistance.  It has advantages over other refractory products in applications with aluminum contact, mechanical wear and frequent thermal cycling.

Thermbond Formula 6-AL solves common problems with die casting holding furnaces and covered launders in the aluminum automotive die casting industry.

Over time, the refractory around the top portion of launders and holding furnaces can disintegrate, starting from the top inside edge and spreading to the top outer edge of the refractory. Thermbond Formula 6-AL withstands the severe thermal cycling that occurs in this area of the launder and holding furnace, eliminating this problem.

Thermbond Formula 6-AL was installed in this type of launder and holding furnace application in 2010 and has not shown any signs of disintegration. The end user is pleased with the results and purchased additional material to install in other holding furnaces and launders. No other product that had been used exhibited the performance of Formula 6-AL.

Thermbond Formula 6-AL provides many benefits not only to the aluminum industry, but the power generation and refining and petrochemical industry as well. Stay tuned for additional information on the success of Formula 6-AL in future applications!

If you would like additional information on this product’s use in the aluminum industry, please contact our Aluminum Industry Specialist, Jeff Pchola at jeff.pchola@thermbond.com.

Testimonial from a Maintenance Manager at a Gulf Coast Power Generation Facility:

"We have had a local contractor gunite Thermbond Formula 6-AG for 2 years now to do all of our burner throat repairs as well as new refractory throats. Thermbond Formula 6-AG holds up better than any other refractory to our knowledge because of its bonding capabilities and the ability to start the unit up rapidly."

As 2011 comes to a close, we take this opportunity to thank you and to wish you and yours, a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2012!

We look forward to what promises to be another successful year with such good friends by our side!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sincerely,

Your friends at Stellar Materials
